CAOBA NEWS

Being part of New York’s History and NY Build 2017

Caoba’s long-standing relationship with outstanding architects, interior designers and the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) in NYC goes hand in hand with our capability to authentically reproduce historical designs for landmark structures. Our work with the architects of the following iconic landmark restorations exemplifies what Design Dictated Manufacturing® means to us.

As a nationally recognized Historical Reproduction specialist and a professional member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Arts, we take great pride in meeting the needs of any architects’ vision.

Caoba Doors featured in Virgin Islands Property & Yacht

This week we were very happy to read Debi Carson’s article: Artistic Expression in Design published in Virgin Islands Property & Yacht. Debi Carson is a truly innovative designer. It is always a pleasure to work with someone who takes advantage of our Design Dictated Manufacturing philosophy. This is what Debi Carson had to say about our wood:

As a designer, I treasure the quality of the wood and finishes; real Honduran Mahogany and Spanish Cedar are their standard, but Caoba also works with many other wood species. There are unlimited options for custom finishes and textures, rendering an end result that is truly unique and luxurious.

Caoba Doors and BKSK LLP – Landmark Restorations

Caoba’s capability to reproduce products for landmark structures is a preferred specialty. Our work with BKSK in Carnegie Hill NY exemplifies what Design Dictated Manufacturing® means to us. As a nationally recognized Historical Reproduction specialist and a professional member of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Arts, we take great pride in meeting the needs of any architects’ vision.

Our ability to authentically replicate historical styles meets the high standards of NY’s Landmarks Preservation Comission (LPC). This institution is the largest municipal preservation agency in the nation. It is responsible for protecting New York City’s architecturally, historically, and culturally significant buildings and sites by granting them landmark or historic district status, and regulating them once they’re designated. It is thanks to the LPC that we are able to supply our products in NYC.

Our collaboration with BKSK had such an overwhelming impact in the community that the project we present to you was awarded the Carnegie Hill Enrichment Award in 2014. The award recognizes the unifying and classic renovation and adaptation to residential use of the buildings involved in the project.

Sliding Doors – Openings to our World

Caoba’s sliding door systems provide a dramatic option for a seamless transition from indoor and outdoor living spaces. Our systems operate on the principle of horizontal sliding panels in unlimited configurations and design options. You can choose between our Lift & Slide and Multi-Slide options.

Rolling hardware represents the primary difference between Lift & Slide and Multi-Slide systems. Where Multi-Slide systems rely on a set of high quality stainless steel rollers and traditional weather stripping, Lift & Slide systems utilize specialised rollers designed to raise and lower each panel for maximum protection against the elements. In the raised position, even the largest panels roll effortlessly on the tracks. When in the lowered position, the panels engage firmly against the weather stripping for outstanding resistance to air and water infiltration. Low rise and flush mount track configurations are available.

Lift & Slide and Multi-Slide systems present a staggered or stepped appearance and utilize an interlock system, which allows the panels to seal against the weather in the closed position.

Both systems can be operated manually or automatically with a touch pad or remote control. Our Design Dictated Manufacturing® philosophy allows us to manufacture the system to your requirements. From a wide selection of wood species, stile and rail customization, raised panel options and glazing combinations, Caoba has the custom flexibility to meet your design needs.

IBS 2015 – Fine Wood is still the best option

We had three amazing days exhibiting at the IBS 2015 in Las Vegas. We have been members and exhibitors of the IBS for 26 years now! Over 55,000 Housing Industry Professionals attended. We were amongst 1,200 exhibitors. Quite a gathering.

It´s always a delight to see the new technologies developing in our business. Business is active, this seems to have been the best show since the economic downturn.

High-end fine wood manufacturing is still the number one option for elegant and modern designs. This year´s theme “All homes start here” was right up our alley as premier manufacturers of luxury windows, doors and millwork.

High-end home construction has repeatedly shown that luxury wood creates the most remarkable designs. We say this based on more than three decades of experience. We manufacture high end products that combine both beauty and high performance.
