Location
Tribeca, New York
443 GREENWICH STREET, NEW YORK
Originally built in 1884 as a book bindery, CetraRuddy Architects restored and adapted 443 Greenwich into 53 unique and luxurious residences. The design, inspired by the original architectural details and grand proportions of the existing structure, celebrates and revives the original construction while introducing distinctive crafted details that complement modern materials and distinguish its residential adaptation. It also emphasizes natural light by incorporating CAOBA's custom-made narrow profile arched double-hung windows, double-height spaces, and views of the spacious and lushly landscaped courtyard. Completed in 2014, the project has attracted high-profile interest due to its low-profile location, luxurious lofts, and extensive amenities.
The restoration and adaptation of the building gained recognition. In 2014, the project earned a spot as a finalist for Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards and again in 2016 for NYC's x Design Award.
